Montgomery Public Works Superintendent arrested following Grant Parish Investigation

A Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office investigation has resulted in the arrest of the superintendent of public works for the Town of Montgomery on multiple felony charges.

According to authorities, 61-year-old Willard Wesley Ferrier Jr. of Montgomery was arrested following an investigation into the alleged misuse and sale of town-owned property.

The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office said Ferrier is accused of taking items belonging to the Town of Montgomery, using a town vehicle during the alleged offenses, and selling the items.

Ferrier was arrested on the following charges:

Theft
Unauthorized use of a vehicle
Unauthorized use of a movable
Malfeasance in office
Sheriff’s officials have not released additional details regarding the items allegedly taken or the timeline of the investigation.
Authorities noted that the investigation was conducted by the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office and remains ongoing.

As with all criminal cases, officials emphasized that an arrest is not a determination of guilt, and Ferrier is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
