The Grant Parish School Board issued a statement following a school bus accident that occurred on Sept. 11 around 4:30 pm near Montgomery. Emergency responders were on the scene, and the safety and well-being of students and staff remained the district’s top priority.

No casualties had been reported at the time of the statement, and all students had been safely transported from the scene. The school district said it’s continuing to work closely with emergency personnel and will provide additional information when it was appropriate and confirmed.

The district asked the public to respect the privacy of students, their families and staff and refrain from sharing or reposting photos, videos, names or unconfirmed information related to the incident. The district expressed gratitude to first responders and community members who assisted, as well as those offering support and prayers.
