Two Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies have successfully completed extensive Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training after participating in a program hosted by the Alexandria Fire Department.

According to the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office, Sergeant Tucker Mendenhall and Corporal Janina Reeves attended six weeks of training that included riding in ambulances, treating patients, and completing the required certification exam.

Following the completion of the program, both deputies graduated from the EMT training.

“Our goal is to give the deputies as many tools as possible, in order for them to provide the best service, to the people that we serve,” Sheriff Steven McCain said.

The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office said the additional training reflects its commitment to equipping deputies with the skills needed to better serve the community.
