The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office has received a grant to help enhance firearms training for its deputies.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the agency was awarded a $3,481 grant from the Friends of the NRA. The funding will be used to purchase ammunition and firing range supplies needed for deputies’ firearms training.
Officials said the grant will help ensure deputies have the equipment and resources necessary to maintain and strengthen their firearms proficiency, an important component of law enforcement training and officer preparedness.
The Sheriff’s Office expressed appreciation to the Friends of the NRA for its support, noting that the grant will assist the agency in providing ongoing, high-quality training without placing additional financial burden on local resources.
Firearms training is a regular part of law enforcement certification and professional development, helping deputies maintain the skills needed to safely and effectively serve and protect the residents of Grant Parish.
