
As the start of the 2026-2027 school year approaches, Grant Junior High (GJH) is reminding students and parents of several important dates and back-to-school information to help everyone prepare for a successful school year.
School Office Reopens July 28
The Grant Junior High office will officially reopen on Tuesday, July 28. Parents needing assistance before the first day of school can contact the office at (318) 899-5697.
Sixth Grade Orientation Scheduled for August 6
Incoming sixth-grade students are invited to attend 6th Grade Orientation on Thursday, August 6, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
The orientation is for sixth-grade students only, and school officials note that school buses will be running to transport students.
Open House Planned for August 6
Parents and students will also have an opportunity to meet teachers, tour the campus, and prepare for the new school year during Open House on Thursday, August 6.
The schedule is as follows:
6th Grade Only: 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Grades 6–8: 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
First Day of School
The first day of school for all Grant Junior High students will be Friday, August 7.
School officials also confirmed that school buses will operate on the first day of classes.
Student Fees
Families should be aware of the following required fees for the upcoming school year:
$30 – Districtwide Technology/Chromebook Usage Fee
$20 – Supply Fee

Pens and pencils
A clear or mesh backpack
School officials encourage families to complete preparations early to ensure students are ready for a successful start to the school year.
