Breezy midweek, storm chances Thursday for Grant Parish


The National Weather Service is forecasting warm temperatures, gusty winds, and a midweek chance of thunderstorms for Grant Parish before sunny conditions return for the weekend.

Wednesday will be partly sunny with a high near 76 degrees. South winds will range from 10 to 15 mph, with gusts reaching as high as 30 mph, creating breezy conditions throughout the day.

Wednesday night will turn mostly cloudy, with lows around 62 degrees.

On Thursday, rain chances increase. A slight chance of showers is expected in the morning, followed by a greater chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Skies will be partly sunny with a high near 79 degrees. The chance of precipitation stands at 50 percent.

Thursday night carries a 30 percent chance of showers before midnight, then skies will become partly cloudy with a low around 51 degrees.

Sunshine returns Friday with a high near 74 degrees. Friday night will be mostly clear, with temperatures dipping to around 47 degrees.

The weekend looks pleasant overall. Saturday will be sunny with a high near 79 degrees, followed by a partly cloudy Saturday night and a low around 52 degrees.

Sunday will remain mostly sunny, with afternoon highs near 79 degrees.
