Mild temperatures and clear skies lead into chance of weekend showers

The National Weather Service is forecasting a stretch of mild and mostly clear weather heading into the weekend, followed by a chance of showers late Saturday night.

Wednesday will bring bright skies and comfortable conditions, with temperatures reaching near 65 degrees. Light southwest winds will shift northwest by afternoon. Overnight temperatures will fall to around 36 degrees under mostly clear skies, with winds diminishing to calm.

Sunny conditions continue into Thursday, with highs near 61 and calm winds that shift slightly from the south later in the day. Nighttime temperatures are expected to dip to around 44 degrees.

A warmer trend arrives Friday, bringing partly sunny skies and temperatures climbing to near 72. The evening will remain mild, with a partly cloudy sky and lows near 54.

The weekend begins with pleasant conditions. Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs near 71; however, clouds will increase overnight as a weather system moves across the region. A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected mainly after midnight, with lows around 47.

Sunday will remain partly sunny but cooler, reaching highs near 59 and dropping to around 35 degrees Sunday night.

Looking ahead, Monday is expected to remain partly sunny with highs near 56.

Residents can enjoy favorable outdoor conditions through much of the week and early weekend before preparing for possible late-night rain and storms Saturday.
