Grant Schools make history with first-ever theatre production

The theatre students of Grant Junior High and Grant High School are making history this month as they debut their very first stage production, It’s a Madhouse! The performance will take place on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. at the B22 Auditorium, marking a milestone moment for the newly established theatre program.

The show, directed by Samuel Tinsley and Maddy Pearson, brings a lively mix of comedy, chaos, and student talent to the stage. Cast members have spent weeks rehearsing, designing props, and building set pieces, all while balancing regular schoolwork and extracurricular commitments. Teachers and staff say the students have gone “all in” for this performance, demonstrating both creativity and dedication.

Admission to the show is free, and refreshments will be available at the door. Audience members are welcome to donate toward program needs, which will help fund costumes, equipment, and future productions.

School leaders shared how proud they are of the young performers, noting that this first production is only the beginning of a strong theatre presence in Grant Parish. Families, friends, and community members are invited to attend and show their support.

With laughter promised, hard work on display, and history in the making, the Grant Parish community is encouraged to fill the auditorium and celebrate the start of a new tradition in local arts education.
