Charles Crain has been appointed assistant principal of Montgomery High School after 11 years as an English language arts teacher at Grant Junior High School.

At GJH, Crain taught sixth- and eighth-grade English and served as Beta Club sponsor, yearbook editor, mentor teacher and host for teacher candidates from Louisiana Christian University. He said he is eager to expand his role beyond the classroom. “I’m not confined to just my classroom anymore,” Crain said. “I can now support both teachers and students at the junior high and high school levels — and that’s what I’m most excited about.”

In his first year at Montgomery High, Crain plans to focus on literacy and teacher support while building relationships across the school and community.
