Certified Flight RN Joannie Sanchez and EMT Alison Cagle were among more than 100 honorees to receive the American Ambulance Association’s prestigious Stars of Life award, recognizing exemplary service and excellence in emergency medical services.
Sanchez and Cagle traveled to Washington D.C. in early November to participate in the celebration events, where honorees were recognized for their achievements in front of their peers, congressional leaders, and members of the EMS community. They were presented with their awards by American Ambulance Association President Jamie Pafford-Gresham.
They met with Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) and staffers for Representative Clay Higgins (R-LA) to share their frontline experiences and advocate for the future of EMS. They joined Stars of Life honorees from East Baton Rouge EMS to present Cassidy with an award recognizing his support of EMS.
